About the Show
The London Zoo, the worlds oldest scientific zoo, opened its gates in 1828 with the goal of advancing the scientific study of animals. In 1831-32, it welcomed the animals from the Tower of London menagerie into its collection, and by 1847, it became a public attraction. Managed by the Zoological Society of London, founded in 1826, this historic zoo is located at the northern edge of Regents Park. Charles John Cornish, a renowned English naturalist and author, captured the essence of this remarkable institution in his 1895 publication. Join us as we explore the fascinating tales of big cats and other incredible creatures. - Summary by David Wales
