About This Podcast
Podcasters on the Rise features standout podcasts submitted each year to the Lead Podcasting Award by Journalism and RTA Media Production students at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Presented by Lead Podcasting founder Amanda Cupido, the award recognizes an exceptional TMU student podcaster whose work reflects Lead’s mission to connect communities through thoughtful audio storytelling.
Each season is fully produced by a Lead Podcasting intern, who handles production, editing, sound design, publishing, and show notes—real-world podcast production experience, and a platform for emerging Canadian talent.
