Welcome to The Patchwork Quilt Podcast—brought to you by Gateway Mental

Health Project, a project run by and for people with lived experience of mental health

difficulties. This is a 6-part series brought to you by Gateway members and staff,

both past and present, who will show you what it takes to nurture a unique peer-led

organisation over a 20 year period and speak to why such compassionate and

empowering spaces are so vital.

 We are a community of peers with lived experience of mental health challenges…

and just like a patchwork quilt, this podcast is stitched together from many different

voices—each one unique, each one important.

 In this series, you’ll hear personal stories from our members, alongside staff who

talk about the organisation’s evolution over the years. Stories of struggle, hope,

resilience, and recovery. Some are quiet reflections, others humorous declarations

—but all of them are shared straight from our heart. Gateway is our place. A space

where we are heard, valued, and where we can connect. This podcast is one more

way we as peers and members of the Gateway community come together, lift each

other up, and remind ourselves—and you—that there is always hope, and no one is

alone.
